Teacher's Guide to The Hero's Journey

The hero's journey is famous as the mythical pattern described by Joseph Campbell, but it's much more than that. The journey is a metaphor for the process that underlies all growth, learning, and self discovery ― the embodiment of what philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer called “the dialogue that we are.”

This site explores the hero's journey in all its forms: from the monomyth of Joseph Campbell
to the archetype of Carl Jung; as a tool for teaching and learning or a philosophy for finding your bliss. Our special focus is on the using the hero's journey in education, especially with adolescents. Please browse our site and check
out our guide to teaching the journey.
